What Do I Need?

  • A smartphone, tablet, or computer with working webcam & audio and a charged battery.

  • Reliable and Secure WiFi / Internet connection. Telehealth platforms do use data, so make sure you have enough on your home or mobile plan for this.

  • Zoom – This page will take you to their download centre where you can download the correct software for windows, mac, tablets and smartphones.

  • A quiet, private space that is free from distractions and interruptions.

Privacy & Security

The privacy of any form of communication via the internet or a mobile device is potentially vulnerable and limited by the security of the technology.

Clients are responsible for understanding the potential risks of confidentiality being breached through unencrypted email, in transit by hackers or internet service providers, lack of password protection or leaving information on a public access computer.

Felix & Sage Psychology makes every effort to keep all information confidential and takes privacy and confidentiality extremely seriously. Telehealth sessions with Felix & Sage Psychology are conducted using the secure platform, Zoom, which provides end-to-end encryption for data security.   You can find out more about Zoom’s security guide are;

Medicare Rebates

Rural & Remote Areas
The Australian Government provides Medicare Rebates for eligible clients located in specific Rural and Remote areas,  who also have a valid Referral and Mental Health Care Plan from their GP.

To find out if you live in an eligible area (Modified Monash Model areas 4-7) please visit the Health Workforce Locator, select the Modified Monash Model (2019) classification and enter your location.

COVID-19
Additionally, The Australian Government has announced a temporary rebate until the 30th of September 2020 for all Australians to access Telehealth services as a result of the COVID-19 Pandemic.  This rebate is the same amount as the face-to-face rebate for psychology services. It counts towards the maximum 10 services per year and as such, you still require a Mental Health Care Plan and referral from your GP to access these rebates.

Can I Access Telehealth without a Medicare Rebate?

Absolutely, you can find more information about our fees here.

Some Private Health funds may cover Telehealth, so please check with your Private Health Fund.

NDIS (Self & Plan Managed) clients may also be eligible for Telehealth services.  Please check with your support worker.
