Available Rebates (Psychology)

Medicare

• Medicare Rebates require a Mental Health Care Treatment Plan to be in place with your GP, Psychiatrist or Pediatrician who then needs to provide you with a referral letter for your psychologist.

• Up to 10 session per calendar year.  A new referral letter is required after your initial 6 sessions.  Your GP or specialist who referred you may choose to undertake a review of your mental health treatment plan at this time.

• General Psychologist Rebate is currently $92.90 per session to the maximum number of sessions set by Medicare.

• Clinical Psychologist Rebate is currently $136.35 per session to the maximum number of sessions set by Medicare.

For more information on your eligibility for a Medicare Rebate through the Better Access to Mental Health initiative, please refer to the Department of Health’s fact sheet for patients.

Private Health Insurance

• You may be eligible to claim a rebate through your Private Health Insurer, however you cannot  claim a Medicare rebate for the same session.

• Please speak to your heath insurance provider for more information on possible rebates and how you are able to claim these.

Private (Non-Medicare) clients, DVA, Workcover, TAC, Victims of Crime (VOCAT) and NDIS (self-managed or plan-managed) clients are all welcome.  Please advise our friendly reception staff when making your appointment as not all of our psychologists are registered for these services.

Please ensure you read our cancellation policy prior to booking your appointment.

At Felix and Sage, we value your time as well as that of our Psychologists.  We require at least 48 hours notice to cancel or reschedule your appointment without incurring a fee.  This policy is in place to allow us time to offer the appointment to another client who may be on our cancellation or waiting list. Our cancellation policy has been set in line with the guidelines set out by the APS.

We do understand that sometimes you may be unable to keep an appointment due to sudden illness or an unexpected personal emergency.  In these circumstances, please contact us as soon as possible to discuss your situation so that we can make alternative arrangements .  In some situations, we may request that you provide us with a medical certificate.

We would like to thank-you in advance for your respect and understanding of our policy.
