Psychological Service
As part of providing a professional psychological service to you, Felix & Sage Psychology will need to collect and record personal information from you that is relevant to your current situation. Please let us know should you want a copy of our ‘Policy for Management of Personal Information’ which explains how we look after your information.
Confidentiality
All personal information gathered by Felix & Sage Psychology during the provision of the psychological service will remain confidential and secure except where:
It is subpoenaed by a court, or
Failure to disclose the information would place you or another person at serious and imminent risk; or
Your prior approval has been obtained to:
provide a written report to another professional or agency. e.g. a lawyer; or
discuss the material with another person, e.g. a parent or employer.
Fees
Appointments
Appointments with your practitioner are for a duration of 51 minutes (unless otherwise agreed). The fees listed here on our website are current as of the 1st of January 2020 and may be subject to change from time to time. All fees are payable by the end of the session by Eftpos, Credit Card or Cash, unless you have been referred by or are utilising approved funding (including but not limited to);
the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA), National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Plan Managed, Transport Accident Commission (TAC), Victims of Crime Assistance Tribunal (VOCAT) or WorkSafe in which case they will cover the cost of your consultation for the number of sessions approved.
However, should any third-party decline to cover the cost for any reason, the account will become due immediately and will be for your own account. Paying for the services rendered thus ultimately remains your responsibility.
Other services:
The fee for any other services, for example written reports or psychometric assessments, will incur additional charges which will be advised at the time of request.
Availability & Communication
Phone & Email
We can be contacted by telephone or email. When we are unavailable, we will leave the answering service on for you to leave a message. We will return your telephone calls within 24 working hours and emails within 48 working hours.
SMS
Please note, we do not receive SMS responses other than “Yes” to our reminder SMS’ as they do not register on our system. Should you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, you will need to call or email.
Cancellation Policy
Felix & Sage Psychology charge cancellation fees for late cancellation or non-attendance, as this time has been set aside for you and cannot always be filled at short notice. When this occurs, other clients who need to be seen are disadvantaged and your practitioner does not get paid; Medicare and other services do not cover cancellation fees. These fees are your responsibility and become due immediately.

As a courtesy to you we may send you an SMS reminder for your appointment. This may occur up to 3 business days before your scheduled appointment. This is a courtesy service only and should we experience staff shortages or technical difficulties it will not occur. As such, it remains your responsibility to attend sessions and the absence of an SMS reminder will not lead to cancellation fees being waived. Please note that the text reminder system is automated and any response to the text other than “YES” will not be recorded, so please call the clinic should you need to cancel or reschedule.
Felix & Sage Psychology reserves the right to reschedule appointments at any time, without compensation, if it is deemed necessary due to staff illness or other unforeseen circumstance.
